Amit Datta is currently Senior Manager, Privacy Engineering at Instacart.
Before Instacart, Amit worked in privacy engineering at Amazon and Snap. Across those roles, he translated legal and regulatory requirements into engineering systems, designed privacy-preserving architectures for ads, recommendations, data governance, and user engagement, and led privacy engineering teams through high-scale product reviews and platform changes. Amit also founded Centaur Privacy, an automated privacy engineering platform that helps software teams and coding agents understand privacy implications early.
Amit received his PhD from Carnegie Mellon University and his B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering from IIT Kharagpur.
Amit served on the program committees for USENIX PEPR ’25 and PEPR ’26.
